I want to give my Patrol a little bit of a grunt on the exhaust side(opera voice). Want to fit a free flow, but the noise(4.8 music) must not be irratable in the cab. Where shoud I go in the Cape Town area. Has anybody done this.

I had a freeflow fitted to my GQ by Maus in Pretoria R3110 incl for a full stainless steel 63mm unit. Up to 3000rpm it is whisper quiet above that it becomes angry though and let you know its not a puny 4cylinder up ahead. I was afraid of a drone at speed but no intrusive noise at 120km/h. I am very happy with the result.

I would recommend you phone Maus and get some advise as they specialise in Nissans. 012 542 4990.
I always had good service from Powerflow in Parow.

Good luck, that 4.8 will have a serious growl with a freeflow.

Ek wil dieselfde doen op my Patrol.

Ek het 'n 63mm s/s free flow en branches op die 4500. BLIKSEM :surprised: , what a sound track!! Klink baie mooi.

En dit help vir brandstof verbruik!! :salute: . Maar ek ken nie Kaapstad nie....

Tjaart, which exhaust manifold and exhaust system did you fit and what did it cost?

I suspect I have a cracked exhaust manifold (there is a small chance that it could be a gasket only, I suppose), so I might also go for a branch manifold and freeflow system. One concern that I have is that branches often increase the underbonnet temperatures so much (probably because of the lack of heat shielding and the fact that the thin steel tubes have less thermal resistance than the cast manifold) that the electrics/electronics start feeling some distress. Have you noticed any problems in this regard?

Have you noticed any loss of torque at low rpm since fitting the branches?

Hi Vaatjie.

Maak weer so!
