Does anyone have a battery box lying around that they want to sell? I'm looking for one to specifically fit a 105A/h battery. I'm just looking for the empty box without any internals.
It would need to be in the Gauteng area.

Hi Cedric, you have a few options depending on how fancy you want it to be.
I bought a very nice plain NL box at bushpower in midrand for R400 - see link

Otherwise something even more basic you can get a typical box at a boat shop.
I did some good mods to the NL box by adding a ctek 250 DC-DC and a ctek 25000 AC-DC chargers, a fuse, volt readout, and couple of connectors... (see my post on this -

Thanks Chris !!
Did you get the battery bracket as well?
Does the battery get held securely in the box or is the battery "loose" and then the box is secured to a surface?
I've stated many times that I'm not keen on fitting a second battery inside the cab, but am looking at doing this type of setup as there are many guys with this setup.

The battery fits snugly into the box, if slightly smaller, its easy to place something in the box to take up the extra space if you worried about battery moving around inside box (I used about 10mm plywood, into which my outside fittings are then screwed to, through the plastic sides to make it more secure). The box itself is very strong and sturdy and can be strapped down quite securely and easily.

Hay Cedric, are you looking at putting an electric motor in the Iron Maiden??? would probably speed it up

Or are you worried that you will need that second battery to get it started in winter to heat your glow plugs???
I may have one of the boxes that you get from Midas, will have a look for you
Cheers Ian
