Little rubber pipe in left aft wheel case - what is it for?

Hi Guys!
I am about to buy a(nother as originally planned) Patrol.
It will have the 4.5l engine.
I wonder about a small rubber pipe, maybe 1-2cm in diameter which you can find in the left aft wheel case roughly at 2o' clock position.
It is more or less level and the visible part a few centimeters long.
Is that a breather or so, maybe for the subtank?
Does anybody know? Is it ok if it sweatens a bit i.e. is a bit wet?
I don't have the car yet, so I can't provide a picture.
Thanks for your help!
Florian

That would be the drain for the rear air conditioner's evaporator, so it is normal to be moist if the rear aircon has been working.

Ah, cool, thanks a lot!
Pictures will follow.
Is it a notmal behaviour that the ABS and diff lock symbols in the dashboard flash when the differential lock is engaged?

The diff lock indicator should stop flashing when the diff lock is engaged. It might take some relative rotational motion between the rear wheels to allow the dog teeth to line up and the lock to engage (i.e. This needs to be tested on loose underfoot terrain where the vehicle can be driven in arcs with 4 wheel drive engaged). The ABS light flashes while the diff lock switch is on to indicate that ABS has been de-activated as far as I can remember.

Thanks Gerritt. I didn't get real sandy underground so I have to test that another time.

I agree with gerrit the abs light will keep on flikkering untill you turn diff lock off because the unit has no control when two back weels are locked together. ...hope it helps as far as n can remember the light flashes for diff lock untill it Locks up and then it stays on
