Hey bud,

Sorry for this post as i am not in a position to purchase tyres of this size, but...

Quick question about the spare wheel rim as i have been looking for such rims for ages...

1: What size is that rim? 8j / 7j?
2: Where did you get it?
3: Does it fit over the patrol front hubs?

I have looked everywhere for rims like these.

Thanks,
Russ.

Russ, it is a Navara spare wheel.
Will probably fit over. It easily clears the large brakes on the Pathy.

But the PCD is wrong so won't fit on a Trollie.

Are you sure it is the PCD that is wrong? Do you not mean that the rim offset is wrong (i.e. the center line of the tyre will be too far inboard if the Pathy rims are fitted to a Troll)?

The offset will be right, but you cannot fit the studs from the hub through the holes in the rim.

I know that from experience. Had to sell BEAUTIFUL rims from my Patrol cause they just could not fit. The studs on Pathy/Navara as closer to each other.

The tyres are sold. Rims are still on offer.

Not that it's important, but the pictures show that the Navara rims have a significant offset. This is common with the modern independent coil sprung front suspensions used on vehicles like the Navara. The offset is probably something like 30mm whereas the Patrol needs an offset of no more than 10mm. This means that the track width will effectively reduce by 40mm if one fits wheels with Navara offset onto the Patrol. Apart from looking a bit strange this could also lead to tyres touching the body, especially at the rear under full flex.

Of course there is no possibility of fitting those rims to the Patrol, as mentioned, due to the different PCDs of the lug hole patterns. It seems that the Navara PCD is only 114.3mm (4.5") whereas the Patrol PCD is 139.7mm (5"). The 5" PCD is very commonly used on pick-ups, which is why I was amazed that the Navara does not use the same, but rather a smaller size more often associated with platkarre.

Tjhe Land Cruiser FJ rims fitted on Tsessebe [THOR] perfactly after I had the centre hole machined a bit bigger to fit over the hubs.
