Hi All,
We received this event from these guys. This sounds like fun. If anyone wants to go through, start a list and lets join in and have a little fun. I unfortunately cannot make this event.
Following the awesome fun we had last year we're doing it again!
Over the weekend of 9 November 2013, our unique 4x4 fun event will again be held in and around Villiers (Free State), organised as a fundraiser for Villiers Hoërskool (VHS). We are fortunate to be living in an area of natural beauty and have awesome four wheeling opportunities right on our doorstep. Through the kindness of our local farmers, we will have no less than 5 trails open for all to come and enjoy. (And with current fuel prices in mind, only an hour away from JHB!)
The trails average 2-3 hours in duration (8 - 35km) and include the well-known Lekoa Lodge trail. They range from relatively easy with some really tricky bits, to others that will certainly test you and your vehicle! All trails offer serious 4x4 fun, great scenery, some game viewing and a little surprise thrown in here and there. In addition to the trails we also have on offer, a 1.5 km long obstacle track along the Vaal River with some radical stuff! (We also have access to the river, so boats and jetskis will be welcome.)
We’re close enough to Gauteng for a day trip but if you plan to stay over - an excellent choice of accommodation is available but early booking is essential.
A welcoming dinner for all visitors will be held on Friday evening, 8th November at the school. After a hearty breakfast and briefing (07H00) Saturday morning, we’ll kick off with a parade down Main Street before taking on the Poortjie Trail and/or the obstacle course. There will be activities and refreshments along the trail and a lunch at Poortjie Game Farm. After lunch, we’ll move on to Selva, Waterfall and Lekoa before returning to the obstacle course (or the carwash!). On Saturday evening there will be another dinner and dance with live entertainment and on Sunday morning we’ll have a run to the nearby village of Val for brunch, from where Gauteng visitors can depart for home.
Check out our website. We’re also on Facebook.
