Strange dash lights

Hi Everyone ,
My patrol has the following problem and I hope some can help.
When car is started the sub tank and battery light remain on,The battery monitoring
system also tells me that the main battery is not charging.I have recently fitted a new
battery.What ideas

Maybe your alternator is not charging! Have you checked the voltage when the engine is running - it must be between 13.8 and 14.2V.

It does not do it all the time and everything is ok charging etc but I Will check it and come back to you thanks

The battery is a dudd -- the AMP output is too low - Try another batery [658 ???] what do you have in your car?

Paul, I suspect either an alternator problem or (possibly more likely) a bad earth connection. Firstly check that the battery clamps are properly tightened, then check all the earth connections.

If you have a multimeter, check the voltage across the battery when the car is running and the warning lights are on?

i agree with Piet bad earth or bad baterry clamps then alternator caint do its job !! :mytwocents:
