Has anyone knowledge of, or fitted reverse warning system in their patrol - I been considering this but not sure what influence the spare wheel will have on the sensor below it as it will be in the field of view and maybe it will just give continuos warning??

I have a Besttec which is very sensitive but it can be re calibrated which is 2 min job. It has one sensor below the wheel and I've never had any problems. Even the 2 inch lift gave me warning (i.e. ground level behind vehicle changed) but after the calibration it was sorted. You can do the calibration yourself

I bought a cheap system at the "cafe on the corner" and it did not work. The silly thing kept on beeping madly to warn me that the spare wheel was about to crash into us!

My suggestion is not to skimp - get something that can be calibrated to ignore spare wheels, etc. and have it professionally installed if you're in doubt.

BTW: Anybody interested in a nice Chinese park distance system? Still in the box, going REAL cheap!

I normally just wait for the shouting from the car behind me to start. :woo:

Other option is to fit a reverse camera. Got the same one Wilfred fitted and works very well. No need for the sensors.
