Well what can we say..... what a trip..... AWESOME!!

Hmmm i thought this was going to be desert .....with loads of sand.....maybe I should have Googled the area first..... :rolling: .... there was bush..... and lots of it !! :surprised:

On the way, after a stay over at Red Sands Country Lodge ( Very nice by the way ) to Olifantshoek I saw the tyres I want for the Iron Maiden.... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

We filled up with fuel and Red Bulls and left Olifantshoek onto the Witsand gravel road....

Herrie, I got some inside info on the "brul" from the vannieKerks whom we stayed with.

The white sand does not "brul", only the red ones on the South side of the reserve.
These however did not "brul" either.
The reason for that is because the only area we walked on (and dune we tried to ascend), is the well treaded part at the visitors parking area. It seems the "brul" had been treaded out of it by many pedestrians. To get the "brul" one must apparently walk a bit further away from the more treaded paths.
Secondly one should apparently only seek the "brul" in the months with an "r" in it. I.e. it does not "brul" in the Winter.
So we did not get to hear the "brul", not because of timing as it should still happen in ApRil, but because we did not walk far enough away from the visitors parking area to find it. :thumbdown:
