What were the differences between the GL and GRX?

Hi and excuse the following humour, but your question got me smiling.
Here's why:

Differences between GRX and GL:
clutch - the GL has one
the GL has a gearlever with 5 nicely spaced ratios, making it ideal for towing, especially offroad
the GL has a seriaas truck gearbox
and it has cloth seats, not leather
and only 5 seats not 7, so the space in the rear is more usable for packing
and in standard trim it had steel wheels, not alloys

... making it a more suitable offroad travelling vehicle when compared to its more refined sister ... now lets sit back with the popcorn and beer and watch the debate ... lol!

On 2005+

GL stood for manual, manual gearbox, manual seats, manual fan and aircon, manual cruise control (use your foot), steel wheels 16"
GRX - automatic, electric seats, climate control, cruise control, 7 seats, extra aircon for rear passengers, better radio, extra airbags, alloys wheels 17"

Standard trim was cloth seats but I've seen many GLs with leather trim.

on pre 2005 model's the naming might have been different.
