Can double vouch on this!!

I landed up losing my cool with Israel, the parts guy at MW, and only then did we get to some sort of semi decent service level...

Nissan hasn't seen my vehicle in years, and they never will again either.

Depends on where you are in the world, but here are the guys I'd recommend:

Gauteng: Graham or Michael (Both of them have worked on my Patrol at some point and I've never been disappointed in either.)
Cape Town: Frans (Never met him but the guys who use him swear by him.)
Nelspruit: George (Has a small shop in White River. Would not use him for complicated things, but everyday service and maintenance, absolute king. And not just Patrols.)
East Coast: Any suggestions are welcome! Might need someone soon. I have a 50/50 chance of moving to Durban in the next year.
May the road be long.. and dirty.

I got lucky today :woo:

2018 Patrol GRX was booked in for 60k service - called on Monday, dropped off on Tuesday for service on Wednesday…

Got a call around 13:00, out of motorplan (and out of warranty I suppose) it will be R14k for the service - all the usual and then spark plugs, front and rear brake pads, and wipers (I replaced those exactly 3 weeks ago  ). Asked them to leave brake pads, wipers but do the plugs - that’s not my favourite job… R7k now… ouch.

Went to pick it up at 16:30 and here’s the great news!!!! Car was washed but no mechanic touched my car, didn’t have a air filter in stock so they decided to do NOTHING, and I got a free car wash.

So going forward I can take care of servicing my Patrol myself.

Where was this. I got my patrol serviced at Nissan Midrand and still waiting for air filter (back order). That was 2 months ago.
It was for 60,000 km major service and also paid R7k.

Rahul

In the Vaal Triangle… at least you got an oil change done. Very unclear with what they were thinking here.

Glad you didnt have to fork out all that money in the end!!
But yes, rather just do it yourself, you'll save a hell of alot of money, and its easy to do. Or, take it to Anthony, I think he would be the closest for you from the vaal. He somma changes my oil while I wait :blonde:

Will probably just do it my self, I kept my previous 2007 GRX singing sweetly until I got the new one. Even did some of the slightly bigger jobs by myself as well e.g. 2” lift. It’s however good to have access to a pro - will keep Anthony in mind.
