Voorspoedige 2012 for everyone

Back from holiday will post a few pics of Lesotho as soon as I receive the pics also of my GQ, my GQ started pushing oil past the fuel pump, not huge amounts just enough to be a disturbance, when I had the vehicle serviced the mech said he thinks we should replace but we decided to clean the current properly and and I presume he put in a new seal, when I got to Underberg I saw oil on my front diff and also due to my caliphers left rear not working lekka I took my lorrie to the mech who services THABO TOURS GQ's ( 8 in total ), they cleaned the caliphers as much as possible ( unfortunately the calipher did give some problems again comin down Liteng Pass ) het hom toe maar met n 10 pond hammer geslaan tot hy luister :rolling:

The mech from Thabo Tours said my oil leak is from the fuel pump and that I must replace it, the mech in RBay cleaned it so well the mech in Underberg actually thought it was a new one that is defected.

Can one put a pirate pump on or should it be a Nissan pump, if pirate who has done it and which brand and what is the cost ?

Shalom
Jules

Jules is it not perhaps just the gasket and spacer between the pump and the engine?

Try Dean at Masterpart, belleville branch. They sell genuine spares at pirate prices.

Hi Jules, toe ek die probleen met my Patrol se pomp gehad het, het 2 Nissan Agente gese dat ek 'n pomp by Midas of AutoZone kan kry wat goed sal werk.

Kobus the fuel pumps are entirely different.

The 4.2's pump is a mechanical unit mounted on the engine block.

Hi Jules,

Did you manage to source a new petrol pump and fix the oil leak?

Cheers

Spoke to Dean @ Masterparts in Belleville, no luck with petrol pump for GQ, stealers have for R906 and the spacer + gasket = R90, so maybe I must first just get spacer & gasket and see if oil leak is sorted. Amazing what the stealers charge for calipher seal kit for the GQ front R 1000 and rear R 1504, SO TO REPLACE SEAL KITS ON FOUR WHEELS R 5000.That is just seals no pistons or anything else!!

Fortunately I know either a Mazda or Ford sealkits fits like "Piet op Griet " I must just go and check on my previous invoice which one it was.

Shalom
