I want a madman

I need some assistance on where I can get a madman EGT monitor system. Naturally I want to get the best price !!

Anyone know where is the best place (JHB), and what comes with it?
I want to monitor my EGT ( at present I have a MGL avionic gauge that is set up to monitor EGT pre turbo and post turbo)
I want to monitor my cylinder head water temp
I want to monitor my turbo boost
Does the madman come standard with the above sensors and tubes etc.?
Oil pressure and probably all the other stuff is not a priority, so may add that at a later date.
I don't really want to go the individual 2" round gauge route cause I don't like having gauges up the pillar or on the dash..... this is a 4x4 animal not a street racer....

Hi Cedric
Look at their website
http://www.madman.co.za/Dealers.htm there is all the dealers listed. Aswell as what u need and what you can get for the unit.
If i can give my 1c worth off advice, don't even bother with the boost, i got the boost sensor on mine, it cost a fortune(they did not had the oil presure gauge instock when i baught it)
and seldom need to check it.
Rather go for the oil presure it mush more of importance than boost level. As you can only have one of the two active at any stage.
I believe the must have's are:
1: EGT
2: Water level sensor
3: Oil Presure sensor
4: Water Temp cauge sensor
5: Oil temp cauge sensor
6: Oil presure cauge sensor

Cedric, I agree with Ariess66 - a loss in boost pressure is merely an irritation, but a loss in oil pressure will have you opening up your motor again
Chat to the blokes at Landyonline. They fitted all the sensors (EGT, oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant level, coolant temperature) on mine so they have experience on the 4.2 Patrol engine. The oil pressure sensor required a T-piece, and the oil temp sensor has the same thread/diameter fitting as that of a Land Cruiser.
My full installation report is posted on the forum if you want additional background...

Take note with the boost. If the boost drop, nothing tell the engine to fuel less. So with less boost and the same fuel, the A/f are richer. On a diesel....you all know what will happen.
Cheers.

Frans, you're quite right about that! I would also like the Madman EMS to cater for more than one pressure input, but alas.
At least when the engine is over-fueled due to sudden & disastrous turbo failure, you'd expect increased operating temperatures (not to mention power loss and lots of black smoke). The Madman's EGT & temperature sensors will pick up the resultant temp increases and then do its level best to alert you by switching to (and flashing) the exceeded sender's display, beeping its internal buzzer and flashing a bright red LED on its screen.
BTW: Won't aneroids (boost compensators) offer some protection in case of sudden turbo failure/loss of boost? Do they monitor boost pressure and increase fueling to compensate, or are they statically adjusted? Everybody knows that smoking is an unhealthy habit!
