A Nissan G60 Patrol became the first vehicle to successfully cross the Simpson Desert in September 1962. Nissan plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this feat by re-enacting it using an identical G60 Patrol. Read all about it HERE. Gerrit moet die 50th anniversary nie lees 60th anniversary nie ? anders het ons die afgelope naweek in n time capsule vorentoe beweeg.
Mind you I was going so smoothly in my GQ towards 3 Provinces it was if I was travelling quicker than the speed of light

Nee Jules, dit is ter viering van die eerste suksesvolle deurkruising van die Simpson-woestyn in Australië met 'n motorvoertuig. Dit het in 1962 gebeur toe die Patrollie darem al 11 jaar oud was .

I was about to start a new thread when I found this video, then calmed my excitement, and first did a search, and found this thread.
Here is the follow up to this story, but they had to take it one further. Not only did they celebrate the feat, 1) The kids went and did again, 2) 50 years later, 3) In the same Patrol.
