Hi Folks,

Am doing some planning on a long weekend type trip and am interested in Mapungubwe as a possibility.

I have checked out the Limpopo tourism website blurb and SANPARKS website so have some idea of whats what - anyone here visited the park / area recently?

Keen to hear what you think of it.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter

My folks went there a couple of years ago. My grandfather owned the farm Rhodes drift some time around the end of WW2, and my Dad wanted to go and see what had become of it. I seem to recall that my dad was very impressed with the trees and bird life, but there are large areas where the public are not allowed.

If you are interested, I can PM you his phone number. You should be able to find a number of areas of common interest?

Cheers
PC

Peter, we visited Mapungubwe during April this year. This is a "must visit" area/park. The scenery and wildlife is beautiful. We camped next door at a place called Dongola ranch for other practical reasons. Feel free to contact me if you still require more detail.
