Diff breather

This weekend I had inspected my diff breathers since I have picked up some excessive sweating on left back diff and right front diff. I was also curious after reading on LCCSA forum about a lot of LC sucking in water in diffs where my breathers end up.Front one goes into the body just left of air filter breather at about 900mm - 1000mm and back one is connected to the chassis one cross member which has 2 rather worn rubber seals on the side of the Patrol. Both the breathers are without blockages, the back one, one should probably take higher since I am rather certain if you drive through water, water might come into the back through these rather worn looking rubber seals.

Water and mud driving is something I try to avoid as far as possible but sometimes it has to be done.

Have any of the GQ Patrol guys extended their breathers?

Regards
Jules

Extended breathers are very important.SVM built their vehicles like that years ago. They not only done the diffs, but the gearbox aswell. All three were interconnected and taken to the highest point under the bonnet and fitted a fuel filter to the end. What happens is when entering the water is the diff is warm, the water cool's it and a vacume is formed in the diff and walalaa.
