Why can I not find a new shape 3.0?

Hi All,
My question is pretty simple I guess, I have been online looking everywhere for a new shape patrol 3.0 which has low mileage (by low I mean around the 50.000 or even a bit less). Why is that!? If you are thinking why the 3.0 its simple, a 4.8 will bankrupt me and the diesels devalue fast making it even more attractive for me.
I have found some 2005 models but they have fairly high mileage, well over 130.000. I say high because this will be my daily car and I need something that I can rely on so reliability is important. I should add that I am sure many of you put much higher kilo`s on and have no major problems, but I question the risk...
Do the people who own them just love them to much to sell them?
My polo needs replacing so this is my research for a replacement car a bit later this year.
Thanks!

Hey Baart, I bought a 2003 model 3 years ago with 119000km on the clock - but she was in mint condition. Fortunately I do not use mine daily, only on weekends and long trips. I also searched a long time for a diesel (like just over two years!) and I belive that once you've got one it's for keeps. There are'nt that many out there as it is, and they do'nt seem to attract the yuppie brigade - I think that if you drive a Patrol you really want to drive a Patrol because it's a Patrol not because they are the latest and greatest fashion statement that so many other fancy 4x4 have become! I hope you come right, keep looking and do'nt give up and settle for 2nd best!!

Took me approx 26 months to find the Patrol that fitted what I was after ... as already suggested, don't give up and don't compromise.

Peter

I dont know if HAZY PATROL saw your quest - but he has a mint 3,0 GRX [manual] and dearly needs an automatic for his wife.. Not sure of his 'mileage' -

I agree with the comments to wait for the right car. Bought my 2003 with only 116000 on, in mint condition, but again I looked for a couple of months.
Glad to hear that my Patrol is now
run in

Bart to get back on topic after Izak and Oom Mac have sorted each other out...
If this were my decision (I wish) I would probably opt for a slightly older 4.8, and use the saving to pay for the fuel. The reason for this is that this forum is full of stories of woe with all the various turbo diesels (although for many different reasons most of which have nothing to do with the actual vehicle) but there is virtually not a single story telling of problems with an un-modified 4.8 patrol.
The petrol engines used in the Patrol are well known for their exceptional reliability and longevity, and can apparently easily last 600 000km. And maintenance is also cheaper, which offsets a lot of the extra fuel costs.
