Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

So eventually sorted the leaking northern offroad tank - had to drop the tank myself and take it to them as they informed me they didnt have the time or space to fit it in.

so today fitted it myself, but now the fuel gauge doesnt seem to work? Everything is connected up properly, its not a major issue for now but i do like things to just work as they should!

Any ideas?

Had a leaking tank of northern offroad as well, had such bad service from them that I replaced it with a front runner tank.
Will never use or recommend them again!

Oops! Maybe the float got stuck when you put it back!?

#$^%$#@$^% still leaking, think it's a hose clamp, but checked, re-checked, triple checked

The big problem is that there is virtually not a glue on the market that is not affected by petrol.

All the sealants and glues I have tried become soft and break down. How old are the hoses? Have they become hard?

some background - re-fitted the tank on Sunday, went to fill it up with diesel, next minute i have diesel pissing on my feet - the main hose into the tank was tightened properly (my fault), a stripped my moer badly, broke the plastic guard under the arch to get into the tank area (im ashamed), so that was the issue.

Then swambo's dad and brother re-did the job yesterday, thank you very much , and i know they work properly. Drove the patrol to work this morning as i want to see if all is 100%, looks like diesel gathering at the bottom of the tank again, but will know at lunch time when i go to check if its just excess or if its a leak (cant be the tank as its just come back from northern offroad..... or can?!).

Tired of this issue now, its been with me since december 2010!

It is necessary to strip a nut once in a while, otherwise the screws fall out.

If you decide that the tank is still leaking and you can't find the leak by tracking the mud-lines, I would suggest draining it, emptying it and removing it, and then pressurising it with an air compressor and using a strong solution of soapy water to find the leak.

Found the leak - lets put it this way - Northern Offroad did a K@K job - will be phoning them later to inform them of their bad service, not that I expect it to get me anywhere.

Note to self... in future use silvertons.... 1. cheaper 2. 12 month warranty on workmanship. I wont have time to see them but will when I get back.
