T-Max High lift Jack

Hello

It seems to me that every time I am opening a new tread I am moaning about something. No surprise then, I am moaning again.

Recently I sold my off-road trailer with the plan to buy an off-road caravan. With it went my High-Lift Jack that was mounted on the trailer. To replace it I bought a nice Yellow T-Max jack. Next outing I bought a mounting bracket from Frontrunner but when I tried to fit the nice new yellow T-Max to the nice new Frontrunner product my problems started. Not only is the holes not aligned but the T-Max mounting holes are way too small.

Friday I went to 4x4 Megaworld in Randburg, spoke to the salesmen (MEN not miss spelled man) and when I started speaking to him/them, he/.they got this embarked expression telling me I should have bought the red one as there are no known mounting brackets (according to them) for the T-Max. Spoke to the workshop manager whose advice is to drill new holes in my brand new Yellow T-Max. My thoughts were not very pure at that point but since I Tattooed a cross on my forearm I try to keep my temper in check.

I told this gentleman that a Hi-Lift Jack is a outside attachment, that new unpainted holes WILL rust and that they sold me thing that cannot be mounted on a currant mounting system makes me a little "de moer in".

So now I am planning to make my own mounting bracket by welding a steel plate to the Frontrunner, welding H/T bolts onto that and thus sorting out my problem.

Maybe the lesson in this is not to buy bright yellow fixtures for a Nissan Patrol!!!

Regards

by the sound of it the t-max hi lift is still brand new (has it been used?)

Why not trade it in a pay the difference for a genuine red jack?

Izak also just make sure you can decrease the height of the yellow T-Max step by step and that it is not like the Farmers jack that just falls down when you want to sistematically drop your vehicle.

Shalom

Me thinks, the take it back and test it in the shop up someones behind, and then change it for a red one is the way to go.

ek sal jou ruil Zakki - my rooi H/L jack [1,2 meter] vir jou geel of blou of watevver kleur djek

I 'll swop you Zak - my red one for your yellow one - Coz I don't affix my jack to anything, it is tied down inside the canopy. [less thingz to fly about in the event of badaccident] [mine even has 'n "sak" with it, but maybe I must keep it...
