Unfortunately it is not mine but swambo's dad's. Did take it for a test drive... first time driving a 4.8... jeez what an engine... still battling to describe the feeling of accelerating that hard in a vehicle that size!! And it seems to hit a "powerband" at about 3,500 which makes it scream, so awesome!! :layrubber: :layrubber: :layrubber:

Why would anyone want to replace this engine unless it was completely shot (Sias?)

Hopefully we'll get to go to de Wildt this Sunday... it'll be old diesel versus new petrol (although I'll be given a head start for the tarmac portion of the day's trip!)

Man this enough to make me cry - I am sure you must have thought "surprise gift from wife???" -

Must say I agree wth you - one awesome vehicle - but that Patrol s so freshit even stil has paper plates on it - going to the bush already???

Enjoy - I am sure farther in law is going to have to hand down the keys on more than one occasion - and on a regulary basis!!!

Yes Pieter - I'm sure when we have braais someone (me) will have to get the ice

Peter at the moment the old GQ is sitting at Zinkwazi on the durban north coast; it replaced the old dicso1 v8 that couldnt fit in the garage and was getting very weathered. Thank goodness the GQ fits in the garage, but i must say it doesnt sit well with my conscience knowing its down there not getting any TLC... still my favourite troll in the family; the sound, smell, heart and character. :admire:

Oompie nothing is yet planned nor confirmed, and I may end up working this weekend... but what I'll do is post on saturday night if we do go through - it would be great to meet some of the JHB 'Trollers

Sjoe, This makes me think of the joke about the guy that comes home early and unexpected one day to also find a brand new Patrol in his driveway. First thought is that his wife is cheating on him, and he has caught them redhanded. He opens the door and wee al over this Troll's carpets and new leather seats, He takes his key and scratches the paint all round the carr while denting every panel with the knee. He als puts his size 11 boot through the grill and breaks the headlights....

He then storms into the house to confront them and his wife comes yelling out the room " Honey I won the Lotto and baught you a new car......!"

Johan I don't beleive that story.

He would have had to crawl into the house if he tried to dent all the panels with his knees. :rolling:
