What started as a question from Saltman.

Hi Everyone

And we will be doing the mother-in-law thing!
Actually it is quite neat as she lives in Humansdorp / Jeffereys bay, so if anyone is passing through on the N2 to PE or beyond, welcome to pop in for a beer or if you need any assistance, we have access to all the required services!

Jeffereys Bay, Krom river, St Francis Bay, Sondags, Kabeljous, the list is endless! Yeeha!

For those in PE or close to Oyster Bay, how about arranging a Brakkeduine trip somewhere between 26 Dec and 08 Jan? Always a nice day outing!
Or if there are other trips around the area, talk to me!!!

Ended up like this.

Saltman, Langman and myself did the trail together with another group of guys, some of who had their families along for the ride.We ended up meeting at Brakkenduine at 09h00 on the 27th for our mini Patrol get together.

The convoy was split into two groups as there were about 20 vehicles. The route starts of driving through forest like vegetation with sand tracks and end up on some coastal dunes where there are a number of sandy climbs.

Here Saltman (Herbie) is on on of the sand tracks before the dunes.

Langman ( Jacques) doing another one of the climbs.

It was a great outing and nice to put faces to names.

I was good to see some Patrols in action....not many of them around these parts that actually go offroad.

Once the Triton is out of warranty I will probably start looking for a 4.8, as you know, there's just nothing like it!

I must add that Satman's Patrol was the only one to make it up as shown in the last picture.

Rocstompa...thanks for this nice report. As you said it was a great day and to see those Patrols in action is something out of this world. I believe we are fortunate in owning these beautiful machines and what a pleasure when these things hits the dirt! I actually want to go do the Brakkenduine thing again because I think that my leaking hose on the turbo may have caused boost issues which could have caused me not to make at least 2 of those 3 dunes I could not climb...not to mention this time I will ditch some weight and do the dunes less my wife and about 90 litres of fuel because I was full on the day top and bottom tanks. Ja Ja...excuses excuses but I cannot accept at least those 2 defeats. Both of them I was almost on the crest but just did not have enough vooma to get me over. Let me know when you are ready to go again....you also have a score to settle with SALTMAN's hill...he is one up on you there!
