Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

My troll is currently sitting with Gregory and Allen at ANG service centre with what they suspect is a blown manifold gasket.

The first sign that something was wrong was last week when I started to hear a loud 'whistling' noise from the engine bay, sort of like very bad electrical feedback tied to the acceleration of the vehicle.

Long and the short: No driving until fixed, on pain of seriously damaging/destroying the turbo. So they're waiting on gaskets from Nissan and will send the manifold to be engineered (?)

Also: had to withdraw from the 4x4community fun day at OTP this coming Saturday as we hope for delivery on Thursday, but there is no guarantee.

Will keep interested parties posted.

Hello Stefan.Hulle gaan die manifold skim,as ek reg verstaan.dit is darem nie n groot fix nie,net ongemaklik.Veral die water toevoer se "banjo" boude.

Maak net eers seker dis nie 'n gekraakte EGR pyp nie. My ZD30 het 2 keer 'n "manifold gasket" geblaas, net vir Nissam om uit te vind dis die EGR pyp wat kraak en dan lek. Indien dit die geval is, is daar 'n rede ook waarom dit gebeur. Kontak my as jy 'n EGR pyp soek.

Jy is reg Frans, hulle gaan die manifold skim en dan is daar 7 staal gaskets wat vervang moet word. Die Nissan parte gaan hopelik Donderdag aankom en dan sal ek die lorrie teen die naweek hê

Any ideas for sourcing the gaskets?

Went to fetch the patrol yesterday afternoon. 7x original Nissan Gaskets and 10 new studs as well as fanbelt, filter & oil change. Thanks Gregory and the guys at ANG service centre.

It was obvious that the gaskets have been used a number of times and had started to collapse

One more thing. The standard (only) Nissan Belt for the Patrol has 7 grooves, but all the pullys on mine only has 6 teeth which means that the last groove will get "eaten away" and then discarded. Anyone else notice this?
