Welcome Milan! Till this day I have dreams of how nice it would have been having a Patrol as a student car...many moons ago.

Welcome, you are a lucky man.
In my days every student dreamed to owe a Datsun 1200 bakkie, later became the 1400 icon
Anyway , many happy long student holidays in that vehicle.

What do you guys farm in Upington?

@Koos and Shields: I love this thing as a student car! most of the guys at my res have already given it a nickname (the tank), because apparently students dont drive cars like this : ). Its for a good reason though, this car was in the family for ages and they were simply going to sell it to buy me a new polo or something. I convinced them that it was a good idea to keep it for me though, because its safe, practical..... and above all else if i wanted to drive it (keep it fueled) i would have to cut down on the drinking with my buddies!! QQQ

It was also the logical choice as i learnt to drive in my grandfathers 3L Mitsubishi Colt Rodeo which was also a lot of fun and a bit bigger than your average polo.

That picture was taken a long time ago when Upington had a record amount of rain so its not normally that green. My grandfather used to farm sheep and grapes, but he had the agterplaas (spelt right?), where we would go and do some trekking/driving/hunting.

To everyone else, thx for the welcomes :), hope to meet some of you in the future.
