Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

So when I bought my patrol I wanted to replace the windshield as it was chipped (in hindsight I would have simply had the chip repaired, but so you learn). I'll give more details on this later, but in short the job was very badly done and I am currently negotiating to have it re-done properly, and under my full supervision (again, so we learn!)

After the job was finished i developed this rattle, then after an investigation, discovered why.
The metal piece that fits over the window wipers (not sure what it's called), is supposed to be fastened down by plastic screw / clips. When this was taken off in the process of replacing the windshield, not all the screws were put back in place, or fastened correctly.

I have spoken to Nissan parts to replace them.... they have to import them from Japan!!! and so a few weeks to get them.

Has anyone had to replace these parts before, or knows of a aftermarket place to get them?

Also try any of the bigger nuts and bolts places ( Not builders though), most have a surprising range if plastic clips and other cool stuff. I'm not familiar with any in your valley but maybe Speedys Nuts and Bolts in lower jhb CBD might have. I'm sure Strijdom park will have some goody place

Ek is nie presies seker wat dit eintlik is waarna jy soek nie. Is dit spesifieke boutjies waarna jy soek? Ongeag, ek het het 'n groot houer vol Nissan boutjies, klampies ens wat uit die ander 4.8 kom wat ek afgetakel het. As dit is waarna jy soek sal ek dit sekerlik he.

Hi Russ,

Who are these guys - are they good at sourcing Patrol parts that we find hard to obtain from the dealers for instance?? I have been waiting over 2 weeks now for the two heater pipes on my "new" TD42T engine - the pipes that runs from the thermostat housing around the tappet cover to the firewall. And Nissan can not even give me an eta yet!!

Never dealt with them myself, but i had read a previous post from "srxy" and a reply from "dungbeetle" had this information, went back to it, cut and pasted for "DaveJones" benefit. However, why not give them a try too, what you got to loose!

Hope they have the stuff, keep everyone informed please.
