Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

My left front free wheel hub failed in the middle of nowhere. As temporary solution the casing was emptied and I am running 2x4 since.
The orginal replacement of auto hub cost 5000 R
Two original manual hubs cost 12000 R
Two AVM manual cost 2000 R but no stock available

Anybody has comments or suggestions (second hand market) ?

The car is Patrol GRX 4.5 petrol year 2000.

Besides not having 4x4, it is the safest option to prevent any further damage!

To help with your decision, have a look at the following:
1. How seriously do you venture offroad.
If you do a lot of heavy 4wheeling - up rocky mountains where there are little or no roads etc, then it is an option to consider going the manual hub route.
2. How good is your memory?
With manual hubs you need to remember to lock them when going into offroad terrain AND you need to remember to unlock them when back on the blacktop!
3. The Australians do not hold the AVM hubs in high regard, considering them to be of inferior quality, which seems to be borne out by the big cost difference.
Has anyone here used AVM hubs on a powerful Patrol with good long term results?
4. OK, if cost is an issue then obviously the replacement auto hub @ R5 000 is the cheapest new replacement option.
5. Down here in CT 2nd spares are really hard to come by and difficult to find, not sure what the situation is up in Gomorra!
