How big?

Hi all,
I'm in need of your expert opinions.
The tyres on the Patrol needs replacing. Current size is 275/70 R16 How much bigger (not specifically wider) can I go without modifying the vehicle? (castor correction, diff gearring etc).
Thanks so much.

285's will be fine.

I agree with Herrie, Stefan. Just for reference, the nominal overall diameter of the 275/70R16 tyre is 31.2", while the 285/75R16 tyre is 32.8".
I am also not a fan of very wide tyres. In my opinion they don't work particularly well (and I don't like their looks either). I would have liked to fit 255/85R16 tyres to my car. These have a nominal size of 33", but are not at all freely available locally. Still, the 285/75R16s work well enough.

285-75-16 is a good all rounder.

Weereens geluk man!
