Walkie Talkies?

Good morning from Germany!

I want to buy 2 radios in Germany for the quite long tour that we want to start in 2 months. Can someone tell me a few devices that actually have a good range?
If necessary, which additional antenna I need.
In Germany we have very strict laws regarding the use of radio devices, do you also have them?

So far I have tested the Midland G7-Pro, Retevis RT81-UHF, Retevis Ailunce HD-1, but all of them only with the built-in antenna.
The range is not fantastic.

Tinus had already offered to lend me some. If there is nothing to buy here in Germany, I will accept his offer. (Thanks !!!)

Frank

If they are over 0.5w units, you need a radio license. That means that they will have to approve your Radio. If your radios are not on their (ICASA) list, forget about getting approval.

Rather borrow from Tinus.

I agree with everyone else. Don't take a chance bringing radios in that aren't ICASA approved, they may get confiscated at the border. A lot of us have spare handheld radios that you can borrow, and it sounds like Tinus has a spare mobile (or more?) to fit in the vehicles.
