Nissan (and I think Honda) studs have a 1,25 mm thread and most others 1,5 mm thread. The 1,25 mm is supposedly stronger.

I and many others had the problem when purchasing the Patrol that 1, 5 mm nuts had been forced onto 1, 25 mm studs and some studs replaced with the 1, 5 mm ones from whatever.

You can see the difference so replace the 1, 5 mm with the genuine Nissan 1, 25 mm ones and sommer replace all the wheel nuts with the correct thread aftermarket ones. Will not cost you an arm and a leg for piece of mind.

When you go to the tyre fitment place watch your nuts like a hawk as they somehow manage to swop them with the car on the next ramp and force them on with an air drill.

Torque on wheel nuts should be about 120 Nm.

IO know it's difficult in Nelspruiit and worse in Sabie, but the best place to look for studs are the specialist bolt and nut suppliers.

Ek was bekommerd oor spasie, toe vertel TW&Tire se mense my hulle sal mooi check voor hulle my daar laat wegry. Ek moet se hulle was besonder deeglik.

I worked on my mags thickness, and also got enough thread protruding to ensure sufficient thread grip within the wheel nut. I would presume that on steel rims it would be even better. I have mine on and have no hassles. I'm pretty sure I have the standard Nissan wheel studs in, cause its those silly 0.25 pitch threads which I think are only on the Nissan
