Its always a good idea to have, at least a pull strap and BOW shackles that fit ( RATED FOR YOUR WEIGHT OF VEHICLE ), in your vehicle. They are not too pricey for a good one, that will last you a long time. If possible, get one from guys like Securetech. They know there stuff.
FYI - If I needed to get recovered, and someone came to recover me with a tow strap without a rating label ( el' cheapo )..... I would rather choose to remain stuck, than do damage or injure/kill someone !!!!
Now I seem to have a problem. I have a 10 Tonne Tow Rope, 10 Tonne Bridle and a 13 Tonne Snatch Rope (all new and never used) made up specially by RopeWorld in Retreat, but no labels. My shackles are rated though. What now? My ropes not good?? I need some advice please.

Jorrie, according to ORRU they are useless.
I had an older recovery strap from Securetech (custom made to request), with a serial number, but somehow the tag got ripped with use. In the end I was not allowed to use it at AAWDC Funday.

So now I do not use my new stuff with the tags just to keep to keep the officials happy with nice clear to read tags on them.

Jorrrie kan jy nie die verskaffers bel of mail en vra vir rating plates nie ? Jy het mos seker n strokie of so iets? Ek glo nie altyd dat daar net een produk is vir almal nie en as hulle ratings op wil he vir ander dae kan dit seker gereel word?

We will probably see more changes, but I have to fix everything on Sunday 11 Nov 12 as I will be out of town from 12 to 16 Nov 12 without any decent internet access. Therefore the final arrangement will be sent to Gerotek by mid-day on 11 Nov 12.
Yours Aye!!

As promised I have forwarded the relevant information to Gerotek at mid-day today.
I will be in the Cape for the week.
See you all next Saturday.
