hello I can assist with most of them but 90% it's your panard rod bushes ....take your bull bar on the side off the car and shake it left and right . If there is any play on the panard you have found your problem ..083 2978013 give me a call I will help you find the problem

well you don't have to take your bull bar "off" on the side of the car, but you can get someone to give the car a good shove and pull on the bull bar so the car rocks sideways, and then while rocking look at the suspension bit to see if there is any movement.
Also check the King Pin bearings on the hub. Mine were a bit worn and that was the cause of my wobble. There is lots of info on here regarding this. Just do a search for king pin bearings

Thank You for assisting. I have changed the wheel-bearings on the front axles two years ago. They are new. The hubs were also checked. It has to be one of the rod-bushes. If it's the panhard-rod bushes, can I sommer replace them myself in my driveway?
Thanks again
Johann

I'm very sure that my draglink bushes are also kaput. They told me so when I did wheel balancing. I think they need replacement as well.

Johan, the Terrain Tamer panhard rod bushes are easy to fit. The only struggle will be to get the old bushes out. Ideally you need a press or a big vise, but there are other more laborious ways like carving out the rubber piece by piece.
As for drag links, they don't have bushes, they have tie-rod ends. And on the standard item these are not replaceable, the whole drag link must be replaced. I can supply a new adjustable drag link on which the tie-rod ends are replaceable. I can supply with either Partquip rod ends or Terrain Tamer rod ends.

I dug out that "old" thread as I still haven't sorted the death wobble issues.
Thanks Ross for your post from long time ago, only found it now but still very relevant for my situation.
My culprit is the 2001 Nissan Safari TD42-T direct import from Japan some 170k km ago. (currently sitting at exact 200k)
I will try to find a mechanical workshop this side of the border (BW) where I have more time to allow repair works.
Unfortunately my trusted Nissan Patrol mechanic has passed away some time back and his business is no more so start from scratch to find a trustworthy competent workshop.
Any recent tips or recommendations in addition to the info on this thread welcome.
Thanks guys, hope to get it sorted.

Hallo again folks,
I ordered parts from Terrain Tamer to solve my death wobble:
1. Pan hard rod bushes.
2. Drag link with tie end rods.
3. Steering damper.
The wheel bearings have already been replaced. The only thing I’m still unsure of is the king pin bearing. How do I go about replacing them? Where can I find them? Are they expensive? How hectic is it to replace them labour wise?
Thanks Again
Johann
