Thanks Dirk. I was given the same advice from a friend but I am just concerned about the weight up top. Acording the Eeziawn specs it weighs about 90kg but it feels like more. From what iv read the GQs roof load is around 120kg but I understand thats most likely an under rated weight for safety. If I could carry 2 x 20ltr jerrys on the roof for diesel then I would be happy.

Thanks Fanus, I measured from centre of wheel to arch. is that 56mm a standard height or is yours lifted?
Im not really sure to be honest.
Got suspension (tjm) with vehicle.
Ok I see. Im guessing its most likely a 50mm lift as that was my standard height with those lifted coil bases.

Just a little flexing with sway bars still in.

Love this old truck, drives like a piece of farming equipment but makes me smile everytime.

If you ever get tired of the farm implement, I'll take it off your hands! :rolling:

Looking good!

Possible according to me, but dont quote me on that....

Or do what I did, got a GU sub tank from Dawid and had it fitted so there is 40L additional diesel under the vehicle.

With the 120L long range I have 160L of diesel.

I think that makes the most sense, keeping the weight low.

Is the instalation a tricky one or fairly straight forward?

Had it done, but seems fairly straight forward.

Tank came with its bash plate and it fitted in perfectly driver side back. Put in a 12V pump with filter and connected to main inlet. I wanted a separate filler for the spare tank and that is something I would not be able to do.

If you do have some extra cash to burn you can get a good panel beater to actually fit the GU filler which has the two intakes, that is first prize but comes with a price tag.

I don't have a fuel gage on the second tank but to me it is the same as 2 jerries', if you filled it up before a trip there is 40L .... pump it over and bob's your uncle.
