Hi Graham
Yes, that is the plan. I’ve only had thePatrol for a week now, so still feeling it out a bit. I’ve noticed a wobble under acceleration between about 90-110km/h, but not too bad. But yesterday when approaching the offramp and breaking from about 120 km/h down to 80 km/h it really was a lot worse. It definitely needs to be resolved. I’ll have the wobble situation looked at first and then get the tyres. Thx for the input!

On the off ramp - were you braking or just rolling?
If you were braking, it could be your disks. I had that issue as well and had to replace the brakes.

Hi Remo,
The front bearing tension is a good place to start - I found both of mine were quite loose. Tightening solved some of the problem. Peter Connan makes a tool for this. The next thing that usually needs seeing to is the Panhard Rod bushes.
A bit of a fiddle, but doable if you have a decent vice. The third thing to look at is the Shims on the kingpin bearings. Luckily the panhard bush replacement sorted mine out...
Good luck.
Bruce

Hi Roelf, thanks for the info. The braking doesn’t feel very smoothe, I think the disks need to be checked again, it feels like they might be a bit warped.
Bearings and bushes will be checked as well.

I am guessing if the brakes don't feel smooth combined with the wobble you described earlier, the culprit would be front discs this time. But it could easily be a combination of factors.

Again, if you feel like coming around here, I can check but not fix.

I have found the problem on a couple of patrols by parking the car om a flat hard surface lie under the car and get someone to shake the steering hard . Where there is a tik tik sound there is a problem . When wheel is off the ground and there is movement from 12 to 6 a clock the bearing is loose . When it moves from 3 to 9 only its drag link tie rod problems . I have supplied lots of terrain taimer tie rods and found that they last the best if you need to replace anything

Hey Guys,

I have the dreaded death wobble and I'm in desparate straits to fix it. I have just put in caster correction bushes, and don't want them driven to pieces before replacing the other front suspension bushes. I gather that it needs new bushes on the tie-rod, panhard-rod and draglink. Will terrain tamer be able to help with this? I don't have the cash to order a new tie-rod, panhard-rod and draglink from Nissan brand new. Surely some bushes must be available aftermarket somewhere? Please help me if you can...

Regards

Johann
