Ian,

Very funny, but we all laugh because "real trucks don't have sparkplugs. Also giving away a secret that we diesel guys have kept under hat for a very long time.

Ok so I have done another small change on my Patrol.

As everybody knows the 4.2D engine likes to get a bit hot when its warm outside and you are towing something heavy. I have notced mine do this one time when I was on my way back from Polokwane towing 1.8 ton, the Patrol did get that hot, but the needle on the gauge started to move past the middle mark and Madman recorded readings of 105deg water temp exiting the engine.

I have alwas knew that my steel bumper was one of the biggest problems as it restricts airflow quite a bit.

So I made a plan and thought I might as well make it look good while I do it.

Luckely I do know how to measure and have a friend in office that knows how to draw things in Autocad.
The plan was to cut the front section of my steel bumper open and replace it with the following

That was easy enough, luckely I also know Tinus that knows peaple with CNC maschines so that part was covered as well

Now my Radiator get allot more air as well as my intercooler. This is still the first part of my plan to get the cooling system working better and will still build some air guids behind the bumper to make sure the wind has to go through the radiator and not around it

Very Nice! How about making a second drawing with a cut out for the winch? And I will be first on the list for one?
P.S where are you going to put your number plate now?

Thanks guys

Ian, what bumper do you have? I can send you the autocad file and you can have a look at it. if you can draw one on a paper with mesurements Im sure my friend will draw it no problem.

The number plate will move to the LH side of the bumper. I will put the number plate on tonight, screw in the rest of the stainless bolts and take some more pics

Look's like a very mean intercooler hiding behind that bumper. What size is it?

Pieter, this was the biggest intercooler I could find on the net and still is the biggest off the shelf as far as I know. It is 600mm x 300mm x 76mm.
The best part is they are very very chaep and sell for R1,600 at MrTurbo.

Here is a picture when the Patrol front end was stripped..... its really big and does a very good job in cooling my intake air
