Ek ruik n tweede Kaapse Patrol outing nader kom!!
7l/km!! That's a THIRSTY BEASTY! I presume you mean 7km/l...hehehe

The usual unladen fuel consumption I get with my 33's is ~7-8km/l (a headwind can be a real bitch) and when totally laden, a strong headwind or deep sand that can go down to ~6km/l. I think the worst I ever got was in the deep sandy section just outside Xakanaxa....that was all low-range stuff, with 33's and fully laden (a month's worth of gear)...if I remember correctly I got ~5-5.5km/l.

These guys are super reliable when it comes to fuel consumption....even on the open road you don't see much of an improvement....but then again...pushing a big 2.5 tonne steel box with tar shredding rubber through the air at 120km/h isn't an easy task...

Congrats again on an awesome new cab!

Srxy,

 Oops - yeah my blondeness came through again  I meant 7km/l.

All is well and the Patrol has done almost 2000km - I am drving it every little change I get. The aircon has been regassed and feels like a bloody freezer - so for now I am not even turning it on.

At 2000 km the oil and filter change will be done and then the turbo and fuelling must be setup - and then all will be well and I can start :layrubber: again.

I will soon make the post regarding the costs and where what spares was sourced.

Regards

Hi All,

My Patrol will be doing the last of the 500 run in klometres this weekend - and then it will be al over!!!

Unfortunately I am working the long weekend in Aug - so no :layrubber: for me

Meantime I will get the oil change done and have the turbo & fuelling setups sorted - and soon thereafter I will organize the 2ND CAPE TOWN OUTING!! :blonde: :layrubber:

Who is game for Babylonstoren - out Malmesbury way and near enough to do as a day trip???

Oh Yeah - I decided on my Patrol's new name today - he will be called

MUFASA

This is the main character from the Lion King Movie - a regal, commanding and majestic KING!! But with a modest, kind and generous heart!!!

Long live Mufasa!!! (I don't hope there is anybody else who has precured the name already - because it really just jumped into my head)

Regards

Baie dankie Koos - all well ends well!!!

Groete
