They actually did try go a little further!
The March issue of SA 4x4 features an attempt to locate the grave of Lang Hans Van Rensburg, across the border on Moz's side of the Kruger.
He and his group of 50 odd trekkers got killed there in the mid-late 1830s.
They were last seen alive by fellow trekker Louis Trichardt's group. Lang Hans's group went further East with the intention to pioneer a trail to Delagoa Bay to sell ivory.

The spot where he and the rest of this group was buried was found and now will shortly become a trail route! (Transfrontier Park Destinations)
That of course is assuming Mozambique still allow us on their side....

Please put me on standby Dirk!

Dammit I should've signed up sooner.

I see there's a 170 km of 'dik sand' - would my 4.2D (non Turbo) GQ cope?

Also from Durbs, we're talking about a 1000km eh?

Tej,
This is not due driving, so diesel is okay!
Tire pressure just needs to be flat enough. I am more likely to spin with too much torque in my V8.

It seems like this is going to become more of an epic national Patrol GTG, with a bit of rivertripping on the side!
