Hello Peter,

I once read on this forum of somebody who's GU submarined up here, north of the vaal river somewhere if I remembered correctly. tried everything, had an issue that the insurance wanted to write it off and and one point this person was very "moedeloos". then some members advised him to replace the immobiliser unit which solved the problem, BAFAIR the unit was located on the side of one of the two front footwells?

Will dig around tonight to see if I can find that post.

Dis die draad "Patroliax in ICU".

Dis waarvan hulle gepraat het:

Ek het al water gehad , en my IMMOBILIZER het nat geword en dit het veroorsaak dat die Patrol nie wou start nie. Die ding sit in die bestuurderkant se voete, langs jou regtervoet agter die plastiek paneel. Haal hom daar uit, maak droog / vervang, en kyk dan. Kyk ook na jou battery. Dit kan wees dat hy gekalf het in die water. Dit het met my gebeur toe my winch gebrand was sonder dat ek dit weet. Die battery het 'n pool verloor. Ons het vir 2 ure gesukkel en toe agtergekom dat dit die battery was.Die liggies het alles aangekom, maar wou nie start nie. Batterye geruil en siedaar. Aksie

Now that's how proper diff's should be - able to remove crown wheel & pinion as a unit and set up on a bench not like my Dana's in the XJ Jeep with the pinion's in the axle housing....

Duckitt - aesthetically your bumpers, front and particularly the rear are the best i have seen

And to put it all together on a pre-2004 Y61, 4.8 !
