Ok, so tomorrow at 08H30 i'm going to pick up my "new" 'troll - going to have to run her in, and then take her back to RGM to manufacture a new down pipe (there was no time to do it now) and install it, change oil and dyno. Then we're all set - I can't wait, it's been over two months now!

Tony.... When you get a chance, Give a price/cost breakdown on what it cost you to do this revamp..... one never knows.... maybe one day I buy a 3.0 diesel too, and factor in an engine rebuild.... strainger things have happened

Thanks Tinus, I picked her up yesterday - the guys had put 200km on the new engine to check that all's ok, and I added an extra 300km's today so still need to do 500km or more to have her run in. So far she feels great, nice and smooth and quiet. I had the madman screaming at me suddenly with coolant temps flicking up and down between 20 deg. and 88 deg. then down below zero, alarm screaming every few seconds and I thought now what's going on!! Luckily it was the connector on the temp sensor that was almost falling off with all the pulling off and putting back - just needed to be crimped a little.

Cedric, I can fax the breakdown through to you if you need - it was definately not a cheap exercise - but I have a new (real) car for less than a little 1200 dinky toy would cost me! I will keep you all updated as I clock more km's and after the running in process is over.
Cheers.

Ok, so eventually she's back :blonde: - the new downpipe looks absolutely awesome, shiny ceramic coated 3" pipe with inside in teflon, and has been extended all the way up to the silencer. No change in sound, but there is an amazing change in her performance especially low down - Steven remapped the unichip as well and increased the low down torque which, together with the new pipe makes a heck of a difference to the performance. I'm gonna try to post the dyno graph which shows the first dyno done in 2010 with the old messed up engine as well as the new results done now.

Tony,
Baie geluk.
Bruin Beer.
