Re: Power Valve Actuator (PVA) Mod

Hi guys,
Okay did the mod this morning! Wowwww!!! About a km from my house there's a steepish mountain tar road which I always climb in 3rd gear, today climbed it in 4th with no struggle from the machine. Pressing the accelerator made the revs increase, rather than it kicking down a gear. I also had two wheelspins (on gravel thankfully...) by accident. (!?)
Anyway the mod was super easy to do and took about 10 mins. I did disconnect the cable, taped it up with insulation tape and cable tied it onto another cable running past.
Happy! Will fill with juice tomorrow
and check consumption figures on next tank.
I couldn't find any decent photos showing exactly where the PVA sits. So for the not-so-sure, here goes a description:
The PVA sits almost on the centre top of the engine, basically where the engine cover sits, there in the middle. Looking from the front of the engine bay, there are two intakes coming into the top from the right, the PVA sits between the two. Easiest seen from the right side (looking from thre front still), but easiest accessed from the front, half lying over the bulbar and resting your bierpens on the radiator.
The cable to be unplugged sits just behind the second intake, i.e looking from the front, the two intakes sit one behind the other. The plug is just behind (on the firewall side) of the back one. You will see it plugs into a housing with a hose coming out the top of it.
Glad I did this mod! Sheesh, easy tiger!
