Radiator hoses are new.
How often must oil be changed on a high mileage tb42?
Normal oil change interval is 10k...?
Or annual if sooner.
If not done yet, I would recommend to get the carb serviced via one of the mackies on this forum.
It will be like a new car afterwards.

Got 3.8 on previous tank.
Did service (changed oil/filter, fuel filter & air filter)
And changed spark plugs from bp6es to bp5es.
Now got 3.56/l
Could the change in sparkplugs require timing to be adjusted ?

Got consumption down to 4.38km/l, by changing driving style...
Keeping revs as low as possible, driving like a granny...

Keeping revs as low as possible isn't necessarily the answer. You need efficiency.

Better to figure out what the torque curve of the motor is and drive it in the peak torque range, and aim for cruising revs at the top of that torque curve. Then you will be driving most efficiently and your big toe will just be gently touching the accelerator pedal. In my cars I make marks on my rev counters to indicated start of peak torque range, actual peak torque, and end of torque range. It works as a reminder of what to aim for.
I've got that waxed in practice, I hope I've managed to explain it clearly in words.

Driving at super low revs all the time can also have other issues such as engine lugging and low oil pressure etc which can bugger up an engine over time. I've seen it happen.
