As far as I know, most of this stuff is very well protected under the dashboard, inside the Patrol. Not like in some Landys where they put these things under the driver's seat

Certainly, I have seen 3l, 4.5l and 4.8l Patrols ford water deep enough to make me scared!

Hello Peter,

I once read on this forum of somebody who's GU submarined up here, north of the vaal river somewhere if I remembered correctly. tried everything, had an issue that the insurance wanted to write it off and and one point this person was very "moedeloos". then some members advised him to replace the immobiliser unit which solved the problem, BAFAIR the unit was located on the side of one of the two front footwells?

Will dig around tonight to see if I can find that post.

What is the difference between the GRX and the GL apart from the transmission?

2010 GL demo with 33k km = R430k, book value R530
2010 GRX new with 0 km = R535k, book value R700k (?)

Here is R100k missing, both being discounted prices, but why??

GQ's in good condition, with suspension upgrades, accessories R60k - R80k

The GRX has slightly more luxuries including leather seats and I think the rear aircon.
But road handling and offroad capability there really is no difference.

Assuming both are 4.8's then;

GRX has 17' alloy wheels - GL has 16' steel wheels
GRX has leather trim - GL has cloth trim
GRX full climate control and rear aircon as already mentioned, GL has manual aircon
GRX has 6 speaker sound system - GL has 4 speaker sound system
GRX has electrical seat adjusment - GL is manual
GRX has 2 + 3 + 2 seating config - GL has 2 + 3

So all in all the differences are in cosmetic trim, mechanically they are the same and performance is on a par for all intents and purposes.

Regards,

Peter

Eendag as ek groot is...

Have to agree with Peter, rather put the bucks on the table for proper maintenance, a lot cheaper.

Oh, and with a GU the noise difference between AT & MT tyres is audible, with a GQ there is no notable noises level change between MT & AT tyres!

Does the 4.8GL not also lack the GRX's sunroof Peter/Andries?

Gee asb so bietjie advies. :helpsign: :helpsign:
