I seem to recall that Stefaansie's car is in the same series as mine. It has a VIN plate on the firewall that says "made in South Africa" but the VIN number does not follow Nissan's published system and Nissan SA does not have these numbers on their system. Somebody once told me they were built by McCarthy in Merc's factory. Not sure about the veracity of that. Either way, I have seen quite a number of these. Oom Mack's is one and Jule's old car is another. On these cars, the VIN starts with ADNC350000Y21. I am also convinced some of these were diesels.
If I remember correctly, Dirk's car is not a grey import (in the sense that a grey import is imported by a dealer to be sold), but was actually brought in by Grant's dad for his own use?
Strangely enough, Dirk's car's VIN number IS on Nissan SA's system.
My Lorrie is gebou in Japan, Ek dink dit was n Dealer Principal in Kenia wat hom ingevoer het vir homself en toe na SA toe gery het en hom hier verkoop aan iemand. Ek het hom toe by daai 'iemand' gekoop. So, dis beslis n 'Grey Import'. En sy VIN nr is nêrens te vinde op die inter webs nie

Quite a lot of work was done to the 3.0 CRD with a combination of the Tillex valve and a remap and would be interested to hear the end results.
