and now I have portions of a Bridgestone sign on my bonnet that was left when the clear coat came off with the sticker. This was the only metal panel on the car that I could actually have used one of those magnetic jobbies. I will have to find a way to mask this very quickly before it goes all horrible on me. Maybe some vinyl or something.

Praat met Beast. Hy het 'n netjiese Kevlar-look job op sy Patrol se enjinkap laat doen en dit lyk baie goed.

Stefan, now the paint under the clear coat is exposed. I have sections above me rear side windows that rubbed up against a tree a few years ago that has now gone completely white after the clear is gone. The sun beats the hell out of the paint and polish just makes it go faster.
Jorrie, I have been thinking of the vinyl route for ages in the hope that I can do it myself and most of all cheaply. I am also waiting for a new product that we thought we would already have the demo stock of which is nothing more than a spray on plastic. I have been wanting to introduce it to the forum, but the stock has just not been forthcoming.
With that stuff you just plastic coat the car and peel off when you are gatvol of the colour or need to remove the scratches.

Your comments are noted. Have a look at Beast's Patrol. It may be a good alternative.

Did some looking around the forum now and can't seem to find any pictures of the Beast's Patrol. Will have to PM him.
