I agree on both statements. Had a foldable RTT and now a Bundutop. Foldable = more space on roof but more difficult to set up camp. With the Bundutop I have less packing space on roof but setting up time is now not more then a couple of minutes, far less effort. Bundutop is heavier but with reduced roof space I estimate that I probably put the same weight on the roof as before, now only put more stuff inside my Patrol. I fortunately do not have kids left in the house so my back seats made space for a platform, giving a lot of extra packing space. I suppose it is all boils down to personal choice. :mytwocents:

Agreed, very cool  . You do it yourself? Anything stored in the footwells behind the front seats?

Did the platform myself with shutter board, free standing and easy to remove as a complete unit - no stripping required. There are virtually no space behind the front seats when moved back, platform is also sitting on the floor, however I can move the seats forward and put flattish stuff there like straps and loose stuff and then move back to normal sitting position. For the river strip I had a 60l water tank, three crates, battery box, shower cubicle and 35l fridge stored on this platform.

Ons hou ook van die hard shell RTT. Ja hy is swaar en jy het nie veel van jou dakrak oor nie, maar vir ons doel, is hy net reg. Die idee van op die grond slaap veral in Botswana is en bly maar biekie "scary'.
Wow dis nou n mooi bakkie. :salute:

Ek kan net droom oor so hoog n afdak vir my karre, daar is omtrent so 10 cm tussen my patrol en die afdak. So petrol met rtt moet buite staan

Kan mens hom nie maklik hoër maak nie? Nou die dag 300 mm by n maat se dak bygesit en dit het mooi gewerk
