Fanus,
Ons het daardie selfde groen 4.5 wat jy in Sabie gesien het se koppelaar en vliegwiel vervang in Januarie.
Ek het die parte in voorraad gehad en Autobox in Koedoespoort Pretoria het vir ons die ratkas uitgehaal , parte vervang en weer terug inmekaar gesit.
Dit is dieselfde operasie wat jy nou gaan doen. Al verskil is dat die seel agter die vliegwiel vervang word. (Sal dalk goed wees om dieselfde tyd te kyk hoe die koppelaar lyk en te vervang.)

Ek is n gereelde klient by Autobox en hulle behandel my altyd goed. Die arbeid total was R2500. Dit is baie billik vir die hoeveelheid werk.

Dit behoort vir jou n idee te gee wat n markverwante arbeid behoort te wees.

Gearmax in Nelspruit het my R2000 gekwoteer vir arbeid. Gaan dat hulle sommer na my limited sip diff ook kyk terwyl die bakkie daar is...
Omtrent hoeveel kos koppellaar , vlieg wiel en seels?

Dink jy dis nodig om dit te vervang? Wat is die leeftyd van hierdie goed?

Sy leeftys is presies tot op daai dag wat hy breek :lol:
As hy gly, erg shudder of nie meer in rat gaan nie dan vervang jy hom. As als nog reg werk dan los jy hom. :mytwocents:

My understanding is that a clutch on the 4.5 wagon is good for a little over 200,000 km. Mine went at 240,000k pretty much. Graham also mentions roughly 200,000.

On Graham's recommendation, I also replaced engine & transmission mountings when I had the clutch replaced. I'd recommend doing this in any case, as the engine and transmission will need to come out a little. Makes a massive difference, although it also makes a massive difference on the cost of the job... :)

It all depends on how much peace if mind you want. Im sure I will feel alot better changing the suspension bushes as well when doing a clutch, but like you say Ian.....it can turn out to be an expensive excersise.

If the Patrol still has its original clutch its worth looking at replacing it while the box is out, but I will not change the mountings if they are not broken.....dont see the point
