Battling to get response from the Junkmail add.
I have looked at the Automark one. Front drivers side head light is cracked and front tires would need replacing soon.
Wil see if I can test drive it tomorrow.
Sent a PM to Graham but wil call him as well to ask for his professional opinion.

May the security guard who told me they would "definitely" be open today get a moerofa headache. Wil have to take my quest further tomorrow

says the car has a RWC but nothing further....
If I cover the costs they will send the vehicle for a DEKRA certificate.
Graham is still an option but the dealer seems a bit hesitant on getting the car to him (I did say I would cover the costs).
My idea is to get some better insight into the condition of the vehicle not only as a bargaining tool but the plan is to get the trol to Graham ASAP after purchase for some "loving care"...
Would an AA/DEKRA test be enough or do push harder for them to get it to G-Tech?

Would it not be possible to get Graham to go to the car to view instead?
Salesman cannot prevent that from happening?
And DEKRA cannot be more intensive than that.
It won't be free, but perhaps worthwhile, if Graham is wiling to do that?
Obviosuly Graham's review of the vehicle once it is on his own site can be much morre intensive.
Which is what the salesman may be worried about.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, just in case there is something wrong with it, he would have to reduce the price after such an intensive review.
That is I guess the nature and extent of the risks one takes when buying second hand...

It will cost a bundle and post having it done I might decide the risk is too high and loose a couple of grand...
The other option is to ask Graham VERY nicely to review the vehicle where it stands (I would cover his costs) but that in itself would not be as comprehensive as a review at his workshop...
I want to mitigate risk to myself as much as possible.
I do know that spending $$$ will come with the territory and I am prepared to do that over time BUT spending R90k on a car and then having to replace (for instance) the clutch at the first service...not lekker...
I plan to buy the car and get it to Graham before even taking it home but don't want a moerofa surprise package as soon as they start..."
Just after typing the above they seem to have accepted my offer of Graham and his services after 4 mails today
, waiting for confirmation from da big boss but the salesman has relented
