You get more heads turning tho...and once you got a Patrol again the mens heads will turn
On another note hows the mileage for a car like this? 240k km what type of repairs can one expect? Ex on a Disco3 cambelts, compressor etc on a Patrol 4.8?

Roy, AFAIK even the 4.8 doesn't have very expensive scheduled services at that kind of mileage.
It has a timing chain and no compressors either, so none of that.
So if it has been properly maintained up till now, it should be business as usual. However, if you don't know, I would certainly be inclined to replace all the transmission oils!

The Patrol in the first post drew my attention as well, and it is still available. I was interested until I searched the name of the dealer on HelloPeter and found quite a few complaint about them, so I will stay clear of that Patrol and the dealership.

Hi all
I had a look at the Trol in the first post on Saturday.
Overall it is quite clean and does not look abused or like it lead a hard life. Nice bumper in front, apart from that fairly standard, i.e. not kitted yet. Engine is smooth and gearbox engages well with no clunks or funny noises (did forget to smell the ATF though). Sunroof works, colour is a white metallic/pearlescent, tyres about 50-60%, aircon blows well, no clear damage on the undercarriage.
However, 2 things:
1. Airbag light flickers the whole time.
2. Central locking doesn't work on driver's door; you have to lock it manually.
To be honest, I was quote interested until I spoke to the guys. They immediately offered me R60k below trade for my vehicle, was less than honest about Trade & Retail values for my vehicle and then proceeded to rattle off a number of things that would have to be replaced before they can attempt to sell my Rok. I actually laughed, thanked them for their time and left. They offered me R10k more. I left.
The vehicle could be a good buy, but the airbag light is worrying.
However, as for the dealer... Caveat Emptor.

Also rear looks like a prang or so, rust on rear door plus the window tint is missing on the one barn door.

Huh?
How do you see the prang or am I missing something huge?

Hi Gents,
I went to test drive tis Patrol and found that the diff lock is not working and performace on 4.8 engine is poor. Soke to the original owner and he said he sold it because SWAMBO did not like it.
Was looking at this Troll, but concerned . Dealer has given me an extra discount and told me I would then be responsable for the repaire. The last service was done privately at 205 and patrol now sits at 237k. Only repaire on the engine has been coils ??
Any suggestion
