note on NISSAN SITE:: Klub Management _ pse advise on "deposit" issue [seeing Club se base kom nie meer annerkant by Nissan plaas nie   :surprised:

OK, I went to the site and here it is as at September 2011

Day Entry (**)
Adults < 60 years R80 per person per day
Adults (Pensioners): 60+ years R60 per person per day
Children under 1.2 meters R40 per child per day

I also see they require a R100 deposit refundable if all the rules were adhered to through the drive. Is that also applicable to us, or has the club been able to get around that?

Oom Mac,

Why must the club cover this. It clearly states that it is for each vehicle. If you behave you get your money back. Not a bad idea.

Rates

The cost for the 4 x 4 self drive permit is R50 / vehicle/ day. Gate entry fees are payable in ADDITION to permit fees.

A R100 deposit/vehicle is required and refundable at the day's end, if all rules have been adhered to.

I tried to contact Bass Lake .... but seems that the right people to discuss this with are not there, and will only be available tomorrow.....

So.... please remember that there is a R 100 REFUNDABLE deposit per vehicle, which you will each get back subject to adherence of course/track rules and regulations.

I contacted the owner of bass lake..... had to search back into my diving history to find his number..... They have a general rule. You pay R 100 refundable deposit per vehicle. The reason for this is that some other groups in the past, have decided that they are going to re arrange obstacles and/or drive off the tracks where they shouldn't drive. They are also VERY strict on alcohol abuse or use on or before driving the track. If you break these rules you will NOT get your deposit back. Personally I think this is a brilliant idea, and am surprised that it is not more than R100 !!!

I know that we.... the Nissan Club.... are very aware of our public image..... which I believe is very good. We stick to the rules !!... and we have loads of fun and games. The rules are there to protect us, and the environment.

So please bring R 100 extra for the refundable deposit.

Directions:

From R21 highway traveling south past the OR Tambo Airport on your left
follow road towards Johannesburg R24 towards Gillooly's interchange - keep left and feed onto
N3 south towards Durban - carry on straight past Van Buuren Ave offramp
Keep going south past Geldenhuis Interchange
Keep going past the PPC Cement factory on your right - stay in the second or third lane from the right..... not the fast lane.... that's for overtaking...
the highway then forks.... left to N3 .... and right N12........ fork ___ to the right.... N12!!
go past the Voortrekker offramp....... towards Reading interchange.... stay in the left hand lane.....you will see the golf course on your left.
follow the signs R59 at reading interchange and travel south
pass Michelle ave off ramp
pass Swartkoppies off ramp
pass Klipriver, and a few more offramps till you see Henley Drive off ramp.
Take this offramp,
at the end turn left
drive straight through first stop street ( dolomite mine dumps on your left)
drive straight through stop street at the Total Garage, and at the next stop street ( school on your right side )( dolomite mine dumps still on your left) turn left
follow the road into the gate ..... and ask the dude at the gate to give you directions to the shop

Cedric, you'll definitely forfeit your deposit if you drive straight through stop streets! :yipes:

I suggest stopping, awaiting your turn, then only continuing straight on...
