I installed a bc12-12-15
. Got from Jean Theart in cape town. Will find his details and post. Cost R1780. I chose this above the C-tec system as it has a built in load shedding function - I.e. when battery 2 is charging, fridge is connected to main battery, therefore proper charge is delivered to battery 2. ctec can do this by adding another unit, but costs are prohibitive. Will post pics soon... Busy moving house...

oops i missed this one.....

1) You need to resize the photos to under 200 Kb. ( some people e-mail the photos to themselves which will give you the option to reduce the size of the photo.) Then save the photos on your PC
2) Click the upload attachment tab below
3) Click "Choose file". Find where you saved the photos.
4) Click one photo ( only one at a time can be loaded unfortunately)
5) That window will now disappear.... click the "Add the file" button.
6) Then click "Place in line" button
and away you go... repeat until all pics are loaded

Opening up an old post - want to install a DC-DC battery management system...

What is best way to go - the post above (uncredible) says he installed a BC 12-12-15- what product is that?

The ctek 250 looks good but very expensive

Chris, I bought a C-tek D250S Dual DC to DC charger for my Patrol. It was the easiest installation.... no solenoids or any other electrical bits... just connect to the main battery and to the 2nd battery and Bob's your Aunty. Its been in and running for just over a year and no problem at all. I like the fact that when I get a solar panel, I can just plug it straight into this charger and it will do everything !!

The one I bought for some reason was faulty, so I phoned Johan from C-tek and received aftersales service, better that almost any company I have EVER dealt with before. I believe that the R3000 I paid for that charger was well spent!!

just my 2 cents worth

edit... its actually been in for close on 2 years...
