between R450 - R500 per 5 litre of delo 400, you'll need 2 plus a 500ml. GUD Z292 is i think R70-odd per filter, you need 2. Air filter i have BMC cone filter which also increase fuel consumptions - im at between 16 and 17l/100km.

I just replaced the clutch, engine mounts and radiator (45mm copper unit with brass tanks) on my 4.2D (non-turbo)....the stock clutch and mounts only lasted 364,000km's....they just don't make stuff like they used to...hehehehe
The numbers Ross quoted were right...I have more than enough power and torque for everything except dune jumping. I can comfortably cruise at 140kph+ (but I rarely do because it's pretty irresponsible and stupid to drive a ~2.5 tonne vehicle at speeds above the national speed limit).
I don't tow though...but I suspect that you will be wanting more power if you do want to use it as a towing vehicle. So a 4.2TD
I pay ~R260 for 5L of Delo 400 from Tonnesons in Claremont....my last oil (10L) and oil filter (2 oil filters) change was around R600....
Davejones you are being ripped off boet...

....I suggest you shop around a bit.
@Christoslang: I was wondering about your fuel consumption...if it's only used for playing then that explains things. If it chews that much fuel on the open road I'd suggest you get it into a tuner asap....

GEESH Dave, I hope that Delo 400 you`re buying comes with added gold dust or something....I just bought 2x5l Delo 400 from the Midas down the road from me (Tokai, Cape Town) and paid R280 per 5l.
It sounds like you`ll save quite a lot of bucks if you shop around a bit!

I think i should check if that's not what i paid for 2x 5l delo the last time I bought it as that would make a lot more sense! Will definitely check next time thanks guys

I achieved a very respectable 12,2l/100km on a trip to Ponta Malongane some time back. Five grown-ups, fully loaded with camping gear inside & on the roof-rack. We'll be doing the same trip next month, will check my consumption then...
At least I'm in the same ball-park as davejones who has the same mods (Alpine turbo, 33"s, OME lift, cone filter, etc.) & drives the same roads

Evening Gents, will it make any difference to my Lorrie if I use oil for diesel vehicle next time when I change oil? I am currently on 228 500 km and will change oil in Dec or perhaps before 60th BIRTHDAY BASH AT 3 PROVINCES.
My GQ run consistently at 6 - 6.7km/l and that is day to day driving.
Shalom
