Gerrit, it is quite high. In its defense however 12000km of that was done whilst heavily loaded doing backroads of SA and Namibia at 1.5bar.

Keep in mind that there won't be many other tires that would handle that kind of conditions and load. A Patrol is VERY HEAVY. So i doubt if the famous Deuler 694 would've been able to handle it....or any other tire for that matter. So it is tit for tat then. Serious conditions and load require a serious tire and it will take serious hammering. One should always compare tires on the SAME CAR AND CONDITIONS.

Go and put the BF's on a Ford or Nissan D/C and it will get more kilos. As simply as that. One cannot expect the same results on a Patrol as on other 4x4's.... :oldtimer:

Tjaart, you're right, my tyres took quite a hammering. An indication of the roads I traveled.
Fitted the tyres March 2009.
April 2009 - Ceres - Cederberg 1000km dirt roads
June 2009 - Roacana (Through Kaokoland) - Palmwag - Solitaire - Molopo - Kuruman - Klerksdorp - 4000km dirt and offroad
November 2009 - Klerksdorp - Jankempdorp - Douglas - Prieska - Sutherland - Ceres - 1000km dirtroad
December 2009 - Ceres - Seweweekspoort - Calitzdorp - Gamkaskloof - George - Ceres - 1000km dirt and offroad

This exclude trail and weekend trips.

In all of this not one puncture, worry or hassle.

Even if I only get 40 000km out of it I will by it again.

Just fitted a set of 35' KM2's to a 4.5 Patrol, nice! They so quiet you can sneak up on a mouse... almost.
