Sunday makes a lot more sense. Fri afternoon traffic near the New Rd or Olifantsfontein offramps can be hectic.

If you can it also makes much more sense to do Edenvale first and be gone before the traffic.
Was thinking to take R25, R515, R567 (Bapsfontein, rayton), might be quicker than driving through Pretoria? (traffic wise).
Fanus, this is used by quite a lot of trucks but is probably still worth it.

The only workable alternative is the R21.
Whatever you do, steer clear of Giloolys!

Note the following

To all:
Please bring firewood for Friday and Saturday evening.
You can also buy wood and ice at the base camp where we will stay on the Friday night.

Rina has lost her email and internet  :surprised:
For this reason she does not have the payment confirmations of the following 5 people:
Dirk de Clerk,
Dawid Marais,
Philip Weideman,
Chris Vercuiel &
Andre Mostert.
I will pm you each separately - to please bring along the proof of payments.

Apparently Stefaansie (Andre Vorster) paid, but is not going. Is someone (one of the 5 above) going in his place? (too many posts, if I have missed it...)
If, so let me know who this is, then payment confirmation will not be necessary for you.
Or call Rina at Oh, eight, 2, 990, four, three, 6 four.

The trail guide will be Pieter Claassen. for any questions to him you can dial Oh, eight, two, 558, six, one, eight, 4.

Conditions are still dry

The river at Rust de Winter is still not running at the moment.

The guide vehicle will have a water can, but please make sure you have enough drinking and washing water with you for the weekend.

(still can't believe Trump won?!)

Fanus - Just in case you do not have a good enough reason to stay far away from the Giloolys area tomorrow.

As dinge nog werk soos drie jaar gelede dan behoort ons 12 uur se kant klaar te wees
